Notes from our Prez
Children’s Hospital has a new art director, and I am working with her and Rachelle, from the Morgan Adams Foundation, to get the drawings started for the next ARTMA kid’s project, which we are in charge of. Hopefully, I may have some drawings for the July meeting. NOTE: We have changed the July meeting’s date to Sunday, July 20th, 1:00PM. Lois will have all of the information about the upcoming show at LAC. We need to talk about refreshments for opening day. Even if you don’t have anything in the show, please come and see it. The more people we have there, the better. Check Lois’s time schedule for the dates.
No other news except it’s probably a good time to start thinking about Echter’s this November. This will be our 21st year, and judging from the crowds last year, we should be our best. We, as always, need a crew, to help get ready for this event. If you want to help, I should have a beginning sign-up sheet, with all of the jobs listed, at the picnic. And, please set aside some time for the ARTMA kids. Hope to see you all at the picnic. Come help us celebrate our great, and growing, club.

PICNIC TIME
Taco Bar and Lots of Fun
Join us on Sunday, June 8th, 1:00pm, for our annual Summer Picnic. All are welcome: members, family members, glassy friends, and possibly new members who want to “check us out”.
This year it will be a taco party. The club will bring the main fixings for the tacos and burritos. You bring salads, more fixings, chips & salsa or cheese dip, drinks, desserts, or whatever else you want to come up with for our feast.
We can promise you lots of laughing, talking, eating, a fun glassy contest, and sharing with all.
If anyone wants margarita mix, either loaded or not, just let our prez know at dc@deborahcarlson.com
Meeting will be hosted by Leslie Bitgood at her home and studio located at 890 Dudley Street, Lakewood, CO, 80215

Local Glass History and Design Discussion
Last Meeting Happenings
May's meeting included special guest speaker, Susan Peppel, who led a good discussion about her shop and local glass history. This was super interesting, especially if you are new to glass or not from the Denver area.
Then, we continued discussions from the previous month’s meeting. In many of our meetings, we cross over into other art forms to expand our creative minds, which is great … working in many genres is beneficial to any artist’s work.
Last month, we made homemade paper. This month, we talked about translating the beauty of those papers into glass projects. It was very interesting and thought-provoking.

Spotlight on Members
Let's learn more about you and your work!
Our group offers much in the ways of amazingly talented artists. We have glass arts at all skill levels and who work in all genres of glass art.
Let's get to know each other and out work. What type of glass processes do you work with? Do you have favorite topics that you focus on? How long have you been making glass art? Why glass for your art? What sparked your interest in class.
To help us get to know each other, we will be spotlighting members on our website and in our newsletter.
I would love to learn more about you. Please send pictures and any information you would like to share to Gwendolyn Morgan at designer@mountaingirlglass.com
